This project page details the development of a low-cost household lead test kit for the Notre Dame Lead Innovation Team (NDLIT). These kits were intended to help homeowners identify potential lead hazards in their homes in neighborhoods with high prevalence of elevated lead levels in children. The NDLIT team requested an inexpensive kit that would collect dust, paint, and soil samples from a household in a compact package to be sent for testing in Notre Dame labs using x-ray fluorescence.
